Aviation Industry Test Equipment:
USB PC-Based Single Channel ARINC 429 Reader with Software
The ASC-429-Rx1-USB ARINC 429 reader is a single channel reader that will reliably read all data on high speed or low speed data buses. The interface is compatible with USB 1.0 or USB 2.0 ports and the required driver is provided on the supplied CDROM. Power for the device is supplied by the USB bus, so no external power supplies or sources are required. After running the installation software, just plug into the USB port and you’re ready to read and/or record data.
ASC-429-Rx1-USB software is provided free of charge with the reader. This powerful software allows monitoring of ARINC 429 labels, rates, and data, allows recording of data to text file, and may put the reader unit into various modes that facilitate debugging and development.
Interface connections to the ASC-429Rx1-USB are via alligator clip, but other connector options will be considered upon customer request.

OEM Interface Electronics:
ASC instrumentation is designed for custom engineering applications in aviation and other specialty areas. Protocol converters and interface connector PCBs are the main product line elements.
The modular components are designed to snap together and may be configured to accommodate a wide variety of applications that require interfacing of the following:
- RS-232
- ARINC 429
- SPI
- analog signals
- RS-422
- CSDB
- TWI
- RS-485
Compact interface function modules for each of the listed protocols are available in a 1.1” x 2.4” format. The infrastructure elements of the development system are carrier boards that accommodate multiple interface modules.
The ASC carrier boards AX_1111_07 and AXR3_M6_R2 accommodate custom applications that required quick and easily implementation based on the Rabbit RCM3xxx series microprocessor. These carrier boards accept up to 6 function modules and support Ethernet and two RS232 channels.
