Body Simulation is built around the excellent physiologic and pharmacologic models of N. Ty Smith, M.D. The software is integrated with many aspects of relevant physiology to present users with the most life-like PC based flat screen anesthesia simulation available.
If you are curious about the capabilities of the DLL, your questions are best answered by installing the Body Simulation for Anesthesia demo program. The DLL contains the Body Simulation mathematical models, so any physiologic or pharmacologic response that can be seen in Body Simulation for Anesthesia is available from the DLL. To provoke the model to respond, it is necessary to call functions for any of many tasks: select a patient, call the main program executive at a the desired rate, adjust anesthesia machine settings, place or remove the mask, give fluid, give injections, do TO4 test, get waveform data in any of several different ways, start critical incidents, change patient conditions, etc.
Users will now be able to customize Body Simulation physiologic data for many differenent applications. Potential applications include communication with external devices such as monitoring equipment, ventilation equipment and other computers using RS232, Ethernet, or PC parallel ports.
All existing models in Body Simulation are included in this package:
The BODY99.DLL currently uses the exisiting models from the DOS version of Body Simulation. Advanced Simulation Corporation is currently funded to improve the cardiovascular and respiratory simulations to produce even more realistic physiologic and pharmacologic responses. These systems will be updated as progress allows.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: $4,995.00 per copy. This fee does not imply a royalty free license to distribute software which incorporates the models.
Q: What is provided?
A: A single DLL for your system, and an interface specfication which describes the function calls and how to use them. Example source code programs are also supplied.
