Body Simulation is built around the excellent physiologic and pharmacologic models of N. Ty Smith, M.D. The software is integrated with many aspects of relevant physiology to present users with the most life-like PC based flat screen anesthesia simulation available.
The software allows varying most of the mechanical properties of the heart including heart rate, myocardial contractility, total blood volume, volumes, resistances and compliances of all vessels and chambers modeled, elasticity of the heart chambers, and more. Valve states are plotted, and many other variables may be plotted. Pressures, volumes, and flows of all chambers and vessels may be plotted.
Different "run modes" of the simulation are possible to allow stepping through parts of the cardiac cycle, or running continuously.
The following graphics are representations of the cardiac and systemic models used in the simulation.
