TCAS II Installations

ASC provides TCAS system models, including installation, for all types of flight simulators. TCAS software models for TCAS II versions 7 or 6.04 are available. Pricing is specific to the TCAS model desired, simulator manufacturer, the host computer type, visual computer, and IOS. Scenario and malfunction selection is typically integrated with the existing IOS and does not require additional IOS screens or input devices .

The following options are available:

  • TCAS II version 7 - PC based
  • TCAS II version 6.04 - Host based
  • TCAS II version 6.04 - PC based
  • TCAS Self-test only device (not for TCAS in-flight scenarios)

Installations are provided with one of 2 standard scenario sets and 6 malfunctions. These options are negotiable, depending on training requirements.

The operator may select male or female voices as required. TCAS modes may be degraded to achieve TCAS I simulation. Stand alone TCAS systems for installation by the simulator or operator are also available.

The ASC PC-based TCAS system may be installed on full flight simulators or setup to run on a network with PC desktop flight simulators.  These cost effective solutions have been setup at various schools worldwide for pilot and maitenance training.

  • TCAS II Version 7 - FEDEX flight training 727-200 Full Flight Simulator (RSL)
  • TCAS II Version 7 - FEDEX flight training DC10 Full Flight Simulator (AST)

In the first three of the above installations the TCAS computer simulation was installed in the host computer using existing spare 429 and Discrete I/O channels. The remaining installations used ASC's PC based TCAS. IVSI and TCAS control panel replacements were part of this project.

  • TCAS Version 7.0 - FlightSafety Boeing Dassault Falcon-50 (FSI)

TCAS version 7.0 was installed in the FSI Falcon-50 simulator for FlightSafety Boeing Training in Dallas Texas . This system uses the PC based TCAS computer system described above.

  • TCAS Version 7.0 - FlightSafety Boeing Fokker F100 (FSI)

TCAS version 7.0 was installed in the FSI Fokker 100 for FlightSafety Boeing Training in Paris , France . This system uses the PC based TCAS computer system described above.
