ASC provides innovative and cost effective avionics update solutions with a minimum of simulator down time. Our team of highly experienced engineers is fluent in the language of regulatory requirements and understands that your simulator training time is what makes your business tick.
The Honeywell Trimble GFMS was installed in the CAE manufactured MD-82 for FlightSafety Boeing Training in Dallas , Texas . FSBTI engineers installed the hardware for the installation, and ASC handled the software installation and system integration. The installation was a combination of host modification and external PC addition (view dual HT-9100 installation schematic).

ASC has recently installed the Trimble TNL-8100 and Honeywell-Trimble HT-9100 GPS systems with MCDUs in several level C full flight simulators. The FAA-727 simulator in Oklahoma City was the first simulator retrofit of it's kind. The key to these installations is the requirement to rewrite firmware within the LRU to ignore the RF antenna input, and instead, to accept data in serial format used for aircraft position (X,Y, Z) and velocity determination.
These systems give the simulator nearly full FMS capability, including storing flight plans and waypoints, and is integrated with the flight director and the auto-pilot.
A full 24 satellite constellation model is provided with the installations, and the instructor may insert satellite failures into the system. Some of the systems are now training at the American Airlines and Continental Airlines facilities. The FAA system installation will be used for performing valuable research at the Oklahoma City facility in the near future.
