EGPWS

EGPWS installations by ASC are typically integrated with existing simulator hardware with no extra I/O devices (like PCs) required. Installations are performed with a minimum of simulator down time (5 – 8 hours/night), and the operator’s training schedule is not impacted.

The Honeywell EGPWS Mark V system was installed on the above simulators. A high degree of customer option and aircraft type flexibility, selectable from IOS, was required to accommodate the daily training use of the simulators by many different airline customers.

The ASC GENIO is capable of rapidly selecting from hundreds of thousands of possible EGPWS configuration settings via remote connections (IOS, PC, etc). Contact ASC for details.

EGPWS Mark V - FlightSafety International Dash 8 Q400 (FSI)

A Honeywell EGPWS Mark V system was installed on the Dash 8-Q400 simulator. The system was integrated with the recently installed dual UNS-1C GPS/FMS system . The installation uses a PC based satellite constellation model to produce GPS information, which is then sent to the EGPWS via ARINC 429. The simulator may be configured to switch between EGPWS and the previous GPWS (simulated) to accommodate Q400 customers presently training with GPWS.

EGPWS Mark VII - FlightSafety International Dash 8 #3 (FSI)

A Honeywell EGPWS Mark VII system was installed on the Dash 8 simulator. The simulator may be configured to switch between the EGPWS and the previous GPWS (simulated) to accommodate Dash8-100/200 & Dash8-300 customers presently training with GPWS
