What we do at Advanced Simulation...

ASC specializes in software development and electronics development for computer simulation and instrumentation in various high tech fields.  Although prominent in aviation and biomedical simulation, ASC provides products and consulting services for a variety of other industries.

About Us

Past:

Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) was incorporated in 1991 out of the community's need for cost effective commercial airline simulator engineering support. FlightSafety International began using Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) engineers to support flight simulator FAA requirements, install avionics upgrades, and support general maintenance. At that time McDonald Douglas was using Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) to direct engineering operations for conversion of an MD-88 full flight training simulator to an MD-90 engineering simulator. In 1993, America West Airlines signed Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) to install windshear detection systems in two 737 simulators. This was Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC)'s first airline contract. Since then, Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) has done avionics installations and other engineering work for American Airlines, FedEx, Continental Airlines, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), FlightSafety Boeing, Martin Marietta, CAE Training, and other smaller organizations.

Also in 1993, Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) developed a working relationship with Professor N. Ty Smith (now professor emeritus) and together they developed Body Simulation. Body Simulation has been used in many fascinating ways -- it has seen use as a marketing tool for sevoflurane, it's been used for demonstrating the look of the HP Merlin monitor, it was used as a development tool for anesthesia machine manufacturers, and is now being used in hundreds of medical schools and institutions world-wide.

Present:

Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) continues to be active in flight simulation and biomedical simulation. Advanced Simulation Corporation's avionics products include PC based WxR and TCAS simulations, all avionics upgrades and installations, and a new line of test equipment is ready to be unveiled.

Body Simulation has expanded in several directions -- notably the availability of Body99.DLL -- the dynamic link library that allows users to build their own interface around the powerful physiologic and pharmacologic models of Body Simulation. Also soon to be released is the Body Simulation Network Instructor that allows an instructor to insert critical incidents and/or monitor the progress of students over a LAN.

Future:

back to top of page

Advanced Simulation Corporation (ASC) intends to push strongly in both aviation simulation and biomedical simulation.

Aviation: Watch for more test equipment and OEM engineering solutions to be made available to the flight simulator community. These solutions will be intended to allow simulator operators to more easily complete modifications in house in order to reduce costs.

Biomedical: Body Simulation will greatly increase the fidelity of the models and provide user interfaces that allow it expand into the fields of emergency medicine, and critical care. Expect also to see smaller system simulations to be released that allow detailed examination of localized aspects of human physiology.
